ABOUT ME
What can I expect from an ADHD Assessment?
An assessment for ADHD comprises of a face to face, or virtual appointment. Before your assessment you will be sent a number of questionnaires to be completed. These questionnaires are a valuable tool which will enable the diagnosis to be made (or not). An ADHD assessment can take up to an hour and a half. Appointments also include discussion around commencing medication if required and allow time for any questions you may have.
Receiving a diagnosis of ADHD can overwhelming - sometimes relief, sometimes shock. We at Liverpool Therapy do not want you to feel alone once you have received your diagnosis. We have a personally tailored package of support which we are able to offer to post diagnosis. This support is offered via one off Orientation Session or a six week ADHD Coaching Package. Orientation and Coaching are offered virtually at present.
ADHD - Orientation Session – This is a one-off session to help you process your feelings around your diagnosis (or lack thereof) and explore your next steps. The session would provide signposting, relevant advice and support with applications for benefits such as PIP or Access to Work.
ADHD Coaching Package – This consists of six structured coaching sessions. ADHD coaching helps you to understand how your ADHD symptoms affect your life. Together we would look at strategies and coping mechanisms aimed at improving your executive functioning skills.
